I have this for a class, but I would recommend it for people who enjoy learning about past civilizations and also how the different religions came about.

I never thought that I would actually enjoy a textbook. It is very well written and descriptive. Everything that is discussed has a photo reference as well. The rental process was so easy and affordable as well.

I currently using this for an intro to Humanities class and it is an excellent resource and easy to understand. I just might keep this one because I like the approach of the author and his balanced perspective.

Not my favorite book to read, but the rental experience was great.

The book is in very poor shape. Black marker scribbles along edge. Front cover is wrinkled. Spine has gouges. Spine has section ripped out.

The description says that the map "boasts an A-Z street finder index with telephone numbers and prices for a number of restaurants. The Yucatan's shopping streets, pedestrian zones and major buildings are all edged in different colours [sic] to make them easier to find. The useful 'Time Map' charts the opening days and times of all the Yucatan's sights and the map's detailed transport information will help you to make the most of getting around the Yucatan."The map has a street index, but that is it. There are no phone numbers, no prices, no restaurants, no shopping streets, no pedestrian zones and no major buildings indicated. There is no useful 'Time Map' charts, no opening days and no times of any of the Yucatan's sights. And, there is no detailed transport information.The back of the map is blank/white. I don't know if I got a defective copy, or if their description is totally wrong. I sent two emails to Rough Guide from the "contact us" link at their website, but only received one autoreply that said that they get a lot of email, and thus will not likely get back to me.Therefore, unless a post from Rough appears here in the future that indicates my map was a misprint, you should know this:1. It is a 1:650,000 scale map of the peninsula. This is better than some maps that are 1:1,000,000, but another one at Amazon (that I did not buy because of this product's description) is 1:500,000 -- better detail than this map.2. The map does have an index of towns and major sites.3. Gas station locations are shown on the map.4. That's it. No city blow-ups (there is no detail for Cancun, Merida, or Campeche). There is NO other information on the map.Would I rate this product higher if the description were corrected? NO. This is a 3'x4' piece of paper for people to haul internationally; a guide book publisher should be the first to utilize the 12 square feet of blank space on the back of the map! City blow-ups would be useful, opening days of major sites would be a good idea, a mileage chart would be welcome, and a list of Spanish driving vocabulary and phrases could prove handy. The list of possibilities goes on.Thus, the map is inaccurately described, and the final product not well thought out.*UPDATE 4/23/10*Having returned from driving in the Yucatan, I remain very critical of this map.First, a city map of Campeche would have been very useful; a city map of Merida was critical. The Rough Guide Guidebook is of no use, as its "Getting There and Away" sections has NO information about driving; only bus information. Thankfully, the Moon Yucatan book has some driving direction (e.g., "take Calle 65 out of Merida to the east") which was SO MUCH MORE USEFUL than this map. Secondly, it is missing entire highways. The only major road it shows is the Cuota between Merica & Campeche, although the Libre was the only road we were able to stumble upon.Is it good for anything? You can chart your progress over long distances, as you can see the majority of cities/towns to which roadsigns point, and it is possible to add up the Km distance markings, once you understand the difference between the font sizes of the multiple distance marks. The map is printed on plastic, so it did not tear. However the ink rubbed off of the areas where it is folded.

We bought this map for a 16 day trip through the Mexican states of Quintana Roo and Yucatan in March and April 2010. It is fine if you just want to get a general sense of where things are, but it is totally useless if you are renting a car and actually need to know how to get from one place to another. Only the major highways are labelled. None of the secondary highways and smaller roads shown on the map are labelled. (What's the point of showing them on the map if you're not going to label them? And it's not a space concern - some of them are very long and there would be plenty of room to include their names.) There are no city maps, which is a real shame, since the whole back side of the map is blank - how hard would it have been to include city maps of Cancun, Merida, Valladolid, etc.? I will say that the map is printed on high quality water resistant paper. It just doesn't have enough info. to be useful. If you are planning to rent a car and drive around like we did, I highly recommend buying a Mexican road atlas instead.

To be honest, I have not spent much time reading this book yet. I've been mostly using the Lonely Planet guide to Mexico. This is probably because I am more familiar with the Lonely Planet books in general. The Rough Guide looks interesting, and I can't wait to dig in!

I purchased 2 maps and this is by far my favorite. We have used this so much. It has been folded and re folded and still looks great. Even if you have a GPS, as paper map is useful because the GPS sometimes takes you in circles in Mexico. Also, I like to have the map on my lap when we go thru the checkpoints, it makes you look like a tourist and you usually can just go on thru without actually stopping. My little trick!

There's nothing groundbreaking here. Greenwald's got no axe to grind, no TED-talk tailored concept to (over) sell. The ratio of insight to fluff is very high, so you'll actually remember what you read.Non-practitioner's won't grasp how valuable a simple, deeply internalized analysis framework is. Researching a company you know nothing about- cracking open a fresh 10-K - can be overwhelming. A simple framework focuses your attention, let's you filter out the noise, and zoom in on the pertinent.Porter's five forces isn't wrong, it's just excessive and distracting. Sure, it's nice for an MBA assignment: go analyze company X on these five dimensions. But if the lesson learned is that equal effort should be expended analyzing "supplier power" as "entry barriers", then the student has been deceived.Scholars love excessive complication. I recall the corporate finance section of the CFA exam, wherein project go/no-go decisions depend on said project's stock market Beta, with calculations carried out to the decimal point. All this "rigor" for calculating project discount rates despite the empirical fact that Beta doesn't work. It's not just slightly wrong. It gets the *sign* of the covariance-return relationship wrong. Amazing.My point is that Greenwald runs counter this tendency. He cuts away the baloney, ignores the auxiliary, and solidifies the foundation of competitive analysis.*The second half of the book, which deals with strategic interaction, isn't vital. It feels like Greenwald threw it in because his publisher wanted a longer book.

I am always reading, I am 33 years old, and this book has been the most important business book I have ever read in my life. It provides a straightfoward framework to analyse and understand the quality of a business, the existence of barriers to entry and the sustainability of these barriers (when identified that barriers currently exist).

A must read for business strategy and investing.

My two key takeaways from reading Greenwald's well-argued and counterintuitive premise are:1. There are but a few fundamental sources of competitive advantage2. Most companies can tap these sources at a local level (not a national or international level)These show that the front-line manager - the regional coordinator of retail chain or the country manager of service firm - has the power (and the obligation) to pursue local competitive advantages. Although the recipes look great and the book does a great job of explaining the diet. I have one huge issue. It does not contain any information on the macros and you have to figure it all out yourself. Granted different brands can change it a bit , but it would be nice to have an idea where to start with.

I thought you were doing great, explaining the keto way of eating. Most of the recipes looked good. But one HUGE error was leaving out the macros - how many calories, carbs, fat and protein?????

Starting this diet from a cancer diagnosis. Ready to get started on this new journey. This book is a easy tutorial to get started.

I Love this Series! I would give this 5 stars like I did all the other books but I'm irritated.The books are Not very long & you can fit about 3 books together to make 1 book. But instead we pay $4 for each small book. I love the series but considering how many books you have to buy & how much it's costing I'm starting to wish I never started the series! I feel the Author is milking us for all she can. I'm amazed how long this series is dragging on. I've stated before that she's my new Favorite Author. But I'm starting to change my mind on that because she should not drag a series on so long & charge so much.

I think it’s great that even after all these books, this series still has the ability to surprise me! This series has always been full of twists and turns and this 10th installment was no exception. Based on where things left off in the last book I was pretty sure I had a good idea of the struggles that our crew of The Shade would face in this one, but instead the story took a hard right and went down a completely different path than I was expecting! In this book we get much more of Caleb and I am as intrigued as ever by his character and was glad to see more through his eyes, I missed him in the last book. We also get snippets of a few other characters that we haven’t heard from in a while, so I really liked those updates and I liked the opportunities for future storylines that those snippets opened up.In the last book we saw how Kiev and Mona were woven back into the story and I think that integration was solidified further with the events in this book, we saw even more characters and places from that series come into play in this book. I think the author really did a great job of tying those books back into the overall storyline, it was seamless and cleverly done. If you read my other reviews on this series or the Kiev trilogy, it’s no secret that I am not Mona’s #1 fan but I actually found her to be likable in this book so maybe there’s hope yet for her to win me over! Only time will tell.I have to say, there is one chain of events between Sofia, Derek and Kiev that when it was first presented I had to fight the urge to roll my eyes. It seemed a little cheesy and absurd, but when it played out, it actually was quite comical and I found myself laughing out loud at what was going on. I love that in addition to all of the action and adventure in this series it can also make me laugh, really these books have a bit of everything!I really love that since the author has returned to The Shade that she’s popping out books every month, it’s just long enough in between so you don’t mind the wait but not too long that you forget everything that happened in the prior book. And the books are such quick reads that it’s so easy to squeeze them in when a new one is released. Ms. Forrest has created such a great world and strong characters and because of how she cleverly keeps expanding this world I think that this series can continue on for quite some time!

Sophia goes to some extreme lengths in order to get Kiev and Derek to be civil to one another. Rose befriends someone new who ends up betraying her. Abby and Ben seem to be getting closer while Aiden finally gets the courage to ask Adelle out only to find he is too late. Caleb once again saves Rose but will they make it home safely...this and so much more awaita in this story.

Bella Forrest has done it again. The pace is steady through the entire book and I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the depth of the characters and how she has woven the stories together. She has also taken us on some twists and turns in the emotional story of Caleb which piqued my interest. I wasn't expecting the turn of events. Bella has a way of sucking you into the story and leading you where she wants you to go, while engaging you in the characters, leaving no one behind. She is an artist in her craft. Sofia has a moment of comical proportions in this book. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Just be prepared to read it in one sitting because you won't be able to put it down.

I loved this story as with all of this series ...That Rose is always getting into trouble lol...well done Bella...I will be looking for part 11 soon...It is so great to get so involved with the characters that a person can literally read one of Bella's book in a day..Bella you are such an awesome writer I will never forget that you sent me your first book in this series by PDF when I entered a contest that you had through Goodreads.. you have made a fan with me..I thank you for choosing me to have the pleasure of reading your first book..I was so amazed at your writing techniques and how your story flows so well..so thank you again Bella for never letting your fans down...keep up the good work

This book drove me insane in a good way. Just when it gets to the most exciting point which I have been waiting for since the last 2 books, it ends!!!!! It is so well written and the characters come alive as you read it. All I know is Caleb and Rose better have a chance to be together now but I feel sorry for Micah and hope he is some how rescued from the island. I can't believe I have to wait a month to find out what happens next!

I'm not sure I have the right words for this installment of the Shade! There are so many things going on, and so many different ways it pulls at you! Not wanting to give any spoilers, I'll just say that this book is a must read! I love the characters in the Shade, and love that Bella has continued this series!!!! I'm stuck on the edge of my seat waiting for the next installment!!!

I am so glad I've started reading this series after several installment novels were written. I hate cliffhanger ending and don't have the patience to wait for the next novel in the series to be created. The shade series will draw the supernatural reader in on the first novel and take hold of them to the very end. They are fast reads . . .only because you can't place it down.
