It appears the VP also has a thing for Mei and will do anything to get her for herself. But Mei has been running herself ragged as her grandfather is still recovering from his accident, can Yuzu and Momkino set aside their issues and try to help Mei in her time of need? Then Mei's father returns from overseas, and Yuzu is caught in the middle of a father/daughter feud. Can she help her little sister patch things up before their family begins to crumble?This second book has a lot of character development and back story revelations, from a rival for Mei's love to seeing why Mei is the way she has become (and find out she likes bears). All the while you feel the tension between Mei and Yuzu as the two feel drawn to each other, but not understanding why and not sure as to how to move forward as they are in a tenative position of being family. Will have to wait for the next installment to see what happens next, especially with someone from Yuzu's past entering the picture.

Just like with Vol 1 in the Citrus series, I finished Vol. 2 in one sitting. It really leaves you wanting more. And the author (AND the translator) are excellent at conveying the complex emotions of these too step-sisters. It's really quite amazingly deeper in fewer pages than the likes of "Girlfriends" or "Strawberry Panic" could ever be.At one point I almost shed a tear myself, because I also have father issues.My hope with the 3rd Volume (is it the last one?) is that Mei and Yuzu finally work out their feelings for each other.The one thing that did leave me questioning/confused in the first volume was exactly how did Yuzu's mother meet and marry Mei's father, if he's been busy traveling all over the place? Maybe this aspect will be more thoroughly addressed in the next volume, maybe not...it's really the emotions between the two girls that interests me the most.And the illustrations are excellent as well. Volume Two has definitely met my expectations.

Citrus: Secret Love Affair With Sister, Vol. 2 introduces a love triangle. Mei, the student council president, and her stepsister, Yuzu, have a little bit of a thing going, but when Himeko, the student council vice-president and Mei's longtime friend, makes a pass at Mei, things get complicated. Luckily, Yuzu has her best friend, Harumin, to confide in, but who does Mei have to talk her problems out with? God, I feel so stupid writing this. There are so many better things to read than shōjo, yuri, and joshi manga, and that's if one supposes that two teenage girls messing around isn't meant for creepy, older guys like me.It's funny. Citrus has great timing, and it's very well constructed. Sure, Mei's always-penitent glare can become maudlin at times (I took teh high-school English! Yeah!), but Mei's the real star of the manga. Yuzu is a bit unbelievable, going from being a regular high-school girl with a boyfriend to being full-on lezu the minute she steps into a boarding school, but that's the genre in a nutshell. Mei is a bit more complex, often with a sad look upon her face. Sure, it's cheesy, but it's good. ****

I first read a few volumes of this online, back when they were being released and I loved it. A week ago, when I saw a physical copy of volume 1 at a store I had to buy it. And after having read that, I've gotta say, reading a physical manga is so much better than just scrolling through pages on a screen. But I digress, I bought this one, and have 3 and 4 on the way. I love this series and have to say I'm very glad that an anime is airing! As for this, the story is good, the art is very well drawn, and the characters have such strong emotional hooks that got me invested in the series. A must read for fans of the yuri and shoujo ai genres! And I guess I should also add that my packaging was in great condition, it has a packet with bubble wrap internals and it kept the book safe without any bends or folds, so that was a plus!

I picked up Vol. 1 at a local bookstore, and was hooked. The characters are thrown together rather awkwardly, but that becomes part of the charm. Wondering how such a situation could occur is one thing, but the author makes it believable enough that the mystery if it will bring you back for more. While our main protagonist is definitely an open book, her new step-sister (and love interest!) is so tsundere, I feel a whole new classification ought to be invented for her. You definitely sense a deep pain and a lot of unresolved mental anguish. How will it play out as these two girls move forward with their lives? I can't even guess, and I can't wait to find out!

This is such an amazingly good story. I never, ever read anything, but these volumes have somehow gotten me to reading a full one each night.After watching the anime I just felt unfulfilled with it, but was wanting more, so decided to pick up the manga. 100% glad I did, it’s not only what I wanted but much more.Volumes 1-4 cover the anime, but with a bit extra. After 4 it’s just even better and doesn’t stop.

I am in love with these books!! If you enjoy female romance, forbidden love, possibly a little taboo incest between step-sisters, then this is DEFINITELY for you!! <3 <3 If you are just curious about any of those things, or even a dramatic, funny teen story, I'd give it a try(: I am on the edge of my seat waiting for more!!

Bought this book for my dad and father-in-law to tell them that my husband and I were finally pregnant. They loved it and my father-in-law actually thought I was giving it to him to read to my nephew at first until my mother-in-law asked if we were pregnant. Great gift for telling parents that they are going to be GRANDparents.

My Husband and I are 25 years old and Grandpa is in his 80's. We bought this for him as an extra gift and I'm so happy with it. The meaning behind it (Even if it is a children's book) Is fantastic and he absolutely loved it. It's not a typical gift he would ever receive so I am glad he read through it and now keeps it on display for when his great grandchildren come around to visit.

The kiddos got this book for Pap pap on Father's Day and each wrote little notes inside. The book is very cute and the sentimental meaning behind it will last a long time! Every time he comes over he brings the book and is able to read it with the kids making memories that will last forever.

Wow... this is NOT good condition... bought this for my dad at Christmas so he has books to read to his new grandson.. I had to tape most the pages and will just have to apologize for the ones missing half the page...

This is one of the cutest stories I've ever read!I love the way the grandpa bear adapted to being older and no longer able to do things like he used to. In its simple way, it shows that grandparents can still can teach their grandkids quite a bit-- and that the young ones can always learn from them!

Good info from a wide selection of movies.This book is great for picking movies you don't know, read something about them before watching it...The letter printing is quite small and I have had some trouble reading it... so I started using glasses with this book.Printing is two inks.

Do not buy this book if you own horror! 333 films to scare you to death, for they are the exact book. They switched the cover and flip flopped the authors names, other than that it's the same book.

FOR KINDLE VERSIONIf I could give zero, I would! There are zero graphics or pictures in the kindle version. I would not have purchased it if I had known this. Buy the print version only.

Must have for horror fans!

I bought this for my Ex-husband for Father's Day and he loved it. He is a collector of all things horror related and this was the perfect gift to add to his collection.

My brother is a huge horror movie buff. I bought him this for Christmas, and he loved it. This is saying something. It is comprehensive and fun.

"Horror" is an extremely juicy look at some (200ish!!) of the most influential horror movies to have graced the silver screen since the advent of the moving picture. A lot of familiar titles appear in this decade by decade critical analysis but it is the inclusion of a large number of world cinema and independant titles that really pushes this into the "must have" category. A well written, thoughtful and highly entertaining read that should be seen as a primer to the humoungous "Nightmare Movies" that the author has written! Great Stuff!!

I read this book twice from the library then bought it. The author's approach using the green/yellow/red lights idea is easy to use and explain, then to apply it to when one has or does not have an open heart or open mind in situations works for me. She does begin with talking about mindfulness and personal awareness of when one is open and closed, a reminder that it all begins with oneself and how aware we are.

While there is some valuable insight hidden within this book, I didn't feel like the book did a good job at conveying the most essential points. The writing was not very concise or well-organized, so that by the end of the book I still didn't feel like I fully understood the analogy of red-yellow-green light communication that the author had used over and over again throughout the book. I finished the book feeling like I got something out of it, but not really sure about what that something was or how to apply it to my relationships.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to deepen and strengthen relationships with people. It has helped my personal, professional, and academic areas of life.

This is the most practical guide I have ever used in evaluating my communication and verbal interaction behaviors. I used it in conjunction with the author's online Shambala course, and use the skills every day.

This isn't a book that can be read quickly because the wisdom that is there takes awhile to process. For example: The idea that to be defensive is the same as "toxic certainty"--and this did ring true in my own relationships. After reading this book, I walked away with a better understanding of how to improve my communication with others.

Fantastic book! A very simple way of communicating the basics of life and how we can manage our day-to-day conflicts. Highly recommend!

I purchased this book for my father, so I can't really review the book, but I will tell you it was a great price for some baseball history.

Bought this for my dad who is a (since their beginning) Mets fan. He definately enjoyed it, reading about all the characters from back in the day.

I could never forget the Mets as I was a true Brooklyn Dodger fan and the Mets returned my interest in baseball. I still recall all the laughter with there first season

There may never be another losing team quite like the '62 Mets. They are still referred to, even by people who weren't born or old enough to remember their season of spectacular ineptitude. The editing could have been better (in one section, San Francisco is misspelled 4 times), which I guess is perfectly appropriate for a book about this team. Baseball fans young and old should have a ball reading this one.

History is big, messy, layered, and complicated as you might expect if you think about how big and complicated the human race can be. You may have thought those history texts you used at school were big and complicated, but historian Norman Davies’ Vanished Kingdoms will amaze you at some of the stories they skipped over. Author Davies proves just how complicated and messy with In 739 pages and 15 chapters. “Vanished Kingdoms” offers a grand tour of ancient Scotland, Burgundia, Aragon, Litva, Byzantion, Borussia, Sabauda (Italy), Galicia, Etruria (Bonaparte’s Italy), Rosenau (Saxe-Coburg), Tsernagora (aka Montenegro), Rusyn (Ruthenia), Eire, and the USSR. The list of vanished states, kingdoms included several new to me or simply not covered in my own studies. I found myself wishing more than once that he had written this book when I was at university as I would have been better informed about several modern countries and regions for which I was responsible as an American diplomat and bureaucrat! A few of his stories also crossed paths with those of my ancestors uncovered via DNA testing and genealogical research, which made those chapters especially interesting.Written with a scholarly mindset, this is not a text of dry prose as the author enlivens even the most dust laden elements of his narrative. Norman Davies supports and illustrates his well-written narrations with 14 dynastic family trees, 74 maps, and 82 illustrations. There is no separate bibliography but he includes bibliographic information in the text and 49 pages of end notes also fulfill that role. This was actually my first book of the author’s but I enjoyed it so much and learned so much from it that I’ve already picked up another of his books looking to continue the journey. I highly recommend it to everyone interested in knowing more about what contributed to modern Europe.

I am a European history buff and once again Norman Davies has delivered. I love the sections about Burgundy, Rosenau and Etruria. My problem is with the Litva section when he writes about the Union of Brest in 1595. Eastern Orthodox Christians respect their bishops just as much as any other hierarch so his writings shows his pro Polish bias. The reality is that the Polish rulers pressured the Ruthenian bishops to accept Papal supremacy and persecuted the dioceses which refused. In fact the persecution and interference was so severe by the Polish Catholic rulers that many Eastern Orthodox Christians preferred to be ruled by Muslims rather than their fellow Christians. Professor Davies' pro Polish and Russophobic writings in the Litva section is the reason why I gave the book four stars.

I wanted a history, but what I got was a travelogue. There's nothing wrong with travelogues, but I was expecting the book to give me some insights into the more obscure corners of European history.

I wasn't as blown away by this as I hoped to be. I think I expected a more cohesive story of how European kingdoms, important in their day, were lost to history, because they have no successor nations today. Instead this is episodic, each chapter a disjunct story. Some of these "kingdoms" are little more than chieftains. Much is unknown and only surmised, or imagined. Far too much "what if" or "maybe it could be that" for me.

This is the history of Europe that I was not taught at school. I am an Australian and was brought up on British History and a British interpretation of Europe which was incorrect, and leaves us today with a complete lack of understanding of the forces that are shaping modern Europe. I found this book a revelation on understanding Europe and I sincerely regret that I had not read it before travelling to Europe many times over the past 15 years. It is a must for anyone of Anglo Saxon heritage travelling to Europe to really appreciate the nuances of different cultures within modern European countries.Roger Grace

As a history buff, I was fascinated by this book and its descriptions of "vanished kingdoms." However, as the book approached the present day (for example in discussing the USSR), I felt the author was trying too hard to make his theories fit. Nonetheless, the peek at some practically mythical kingdoms was entertaining and well-written.

Mr. Davies wrote Europe which is my favorite history book- I've had it for over a decade and still go back to randomly readwhat ever section I flip to. This book seems like a collection of expanded capsules from Europe. His forward and postscript are both poignant and thoughtfully written- I think we tend to think of the present as the culmination of history (and in a sense it is), Mr. Davies reminds us that things that situations that appear permanent are transitory. This is an old theme, but usually the example is a fallen empire; Vanished Kingdoms takes it a step further by looking at former states, some great, some not, that not only fell, but that have largely been forgotten. It's one thing to talk about shifting time while looking at, for instance, Rome, but having to include it's contribution to the modern world in the epilogue. It's another thing entirely to talk about places that simply vanished without making any memorable contributions to history.That being said, the individual stories don't simply hammer the theme, rather, they are well rounded stories of places that you probably haven't read much about. If you are interested in European history, this book fills in some gaps that larger works often leave (Mr. Davies often goes to pains to explain the lack of sources for certain aspects of the book). Even if you aren't interested in his broader themes, this book is still worth reading for the histories themselves; certain sections (primarily concerning locations in Eastern Europe) display the depth of the authors knowledge and passion other sections seem more forced (Burgundia comes to mind), but over all this is a great book.

What a fascinating travelogue through space and time! Extremely entertaining couldn't put it down. Great non fiction read

I find myself thinking about it as I wash dishes or look for lost shoes, wondering how God might be present and at work even now.Warren's writing is accessible for anyone and is certainly not written just for moms - it just happened to hit me in this season. Funny at just the right moments, Liturgy of the Ordinary provides plenty of food-for-thought even for the experienced theologian. (In fact, the foreword is written by Andy Crouch which tells you this book isn't fluff!) My copy is underlined and highlighted to return to again and again. I'll be buying copies for friends this Christmas.

For a Christian, there is no secular life; we know this deep down, although we often forget it. Tish Harrison Warren takes us through the mundane, everyday parts of our lives and shows their connection to the sacred. From waking up to brushing our teeth to eating leftovers and fighting with our spouses, every part of our day is an echo of our relationship with God.As cheesy as this sounds, I downloaded this book because I felt like God was telling me to. Suddenly, everywhere I turned, one of my friends or another was either reading it or had just finished and was heavily recommending it. As soon as I started reading it, I understood why. I had to stop myself from highlighting the entire book, and during the first several chapters I just cried. I needed these words so much. Especially the waiting in traffic chapter. Going on 15 months of infertility, her words on waiting for God resonated deeply with me.As someone who struggles with spiritual disciplines, this book taught me I can work in so many of them during my normal routine. Now when I wake, I try to pray and sit in quiet meditation instead of immediately reaching for the phone. When I shower, I remember my baptism and the grace God has extended to me. It's only been a few days, so I haven't got the ball rolling on making my bed yet, but there's hope for the future at very least.Tish Harrison Warren is an amazing writer, and this much-needed book fills a void. I recommend to all Christian friends, and to all non-Christian friends who consider themselves spiritual or who are interested in learning more about practical faith.

I am an IT manager currently employed but seeking career alternatives, because growth opportunities are limited with my background. This book gave me a whole new perspective on working and learning. It opened a door to a potential future with a plethora of helpful and practical ideas, including funding, an important concern. In addition, I see EMBA programs can be highly flexible, yet challenging and versatile, with an abundance of opportunities that fit my interests. I loved the comments from those who went through EMBA programs, and really appreciated the wide range of people who attend these programs. The book is clear, concise, well written and reflects an enormous amount of research.

I work for an inner-city bank and as a working mother my options in getting ahead are limited in my company. Certainly an MBA can help and the executive MBA route seems viable. I don't see myself CEO of the bank, I am not that type, but the delivery of the education and types of projects plus accommodating work and family seems appealing. After reading this book, "executive" is just the name of the style of the delivery of the education and most who attend the EMBA are simply aspiring professionals looking to get ahead like me with around 10 years or more work experience. The section for working mothers was excellent and the sample schedule and testimony from actual women was great. I strongly recommend this book for anyone interested in getting an MBA. Helpful and practical advice.

Great tips on getting financing and negotiating with my employer. Now if I can only get it through my boss's head how important it is to continue with professional education and get the company to back me up. THis book is an unbaised look at this very interesting form of business school education. Well worth the investment. I think I'll leave it on his desk.

The book illustrates important issues about working full time and getting an MBA. I am not in a position to drop out of the workforce to go back to school full time. I would prefer to continue working, besides, I am also a single parent. The executive MBA may serve my purposes and the book provides valuable and practical issues to consider.
