I have been intrigued by this book for a few years and after battling weight gain I decided to finally buy it to see if I could gain any insight for my particular blood type. What the book did was actually confirm what I have suspected for a while. I am type O and are often lactose intolerant, prone to stomach issues and better off eating protein. For me it was spot on and I am glad I read it. It did give me some guide lines to follow in the future. I thought it was worth the investment to buy and read the book.

First I am not one for diets. Second I was very skeptical about this. I bought my friend a book too. She went to the extreme and did everything she was suppose to and well, I gradually worked in the foods that are beneficial for me and removed the foods that weren't. Within three months my friend went from being in bed all the time, depressed, aching joints, ADD, etc... to being energetic, not ADD, younger looking skin, etc. I mean a completely different person that was obvious to all of us around her. Needless to say I was shocked. Still don't quite understand how food has that kind of impact on the body but the proof was undeniable. So, I and my other friend decided to buckled down and do exactly what the book said to do. I am type O so there were some foods to avoid that were my favorite like Avocado, corn, etc. but for the most part it was easy. I just literally threw everything out of my kitchen that was not type O approved. For me I am a picky eater so wasn't sure how this was going to go. Well, I am still eating type O after four years now. Before I would be in the hospital three to four times a year due to bronchitis, asthma, etc. Always on an antibiotic or steroid, etc. When you walk into an ER and the doctors remember you and know how to treat you off of their memory it is pretty sad. I was also the type of person where if someone was sick and even near me for a minute it was just a matter of time that I was going to be sick too, every single time. Well, in the four years doing type O I have not been sick once. Not even once. I have been around people that were very sick and never once have I been sick. Have not had any antibiotics or steroids. My other friend no longer clears his throat that he did repeatedly for 10 years. One of the key issues was corn for us. Anything with corn...corn starch, etc. in fact, after three months of being on type O strictly if I have something with corn starch my body and my friend's body reacts immediately...head pressure, sinus pressure it is crazy. Not all avoid foods will my body react to dramatically but there are key ones it will and I am like I should not have eaten that. Still don't understand the science behind it. But now several people I know eat this way and every single one of us has changed and improved dramatically. What is even crazier I don't even crave the foods I really liked that are on my avoid list and crave foods now that I thought I would never eat. I love spinach now, before maybe once a year. I love pizza with just a little olive oil, crushed garlic, feta, spinach, no sauce, kalamata olives, maybe some red onions...my favorite...before I loved cheese pizza but not no more. I eat mozzarella cheese over cheddar. Eat feta cheese now. Never ate onions in my life but now do, it is crazy. My body literally craves type O food it is absolutely mind blowing. I mean anyone that tries eating their blood type and does so strictly for at least three months, meaning avoid all avoid foods, eat all beneficial foods, etc. will see a major difference. As I have seen it with my own eyes with several different blood types. It works, can't explain it. I bought the app on my iPhone so when in the grocery store I just quickly look up an item as type O can have mushrooms but some mushrooms are on my avoid list so I just click on the app as I can never remember which one and know immediately what to buy and what not too.

I think someone's opinion on this book is going to be largely based on their health going into the diet. I first found this book in high school and my mom said I was an A blood type so I concentrated on vegetarian foods. I was happy to do this because it was in the 90's and all my teen magazines promoted low fat and vegetarian diets and of course, I wanted to be like the models. I would skip the meat part of the meal and I would never get full. My weight ballooned. I had digestive problems. After about 4 years, I developed a chronic cough that never went away. I went to a lung specialist and he told me I probably had cystic fibrosis and sent me to the hospital to get tested. My sodium test was borderline. He was so sure that I had it, he sent me to another hospital in another town to have the test retaken because he thought the staff was bad at the first place. My test was borderline again. He gave me all sorts of steroids to help with the cough and eventually it went away.Anyway, fast forward years and my health was destroyed. I ended up desperate to fix it so I went to college for dietetics and became a nutritionist. Of course, dietetic school said this was a fad diet so I went on a dietary guidelines plan. I was able to lose a little weight because I had incorporated meat back into my diet.'Fast forward a year out of school, I discovered the paleo diet and my whole world was better. I thrived on the paleo diet, lost weight, and told everyone about it. I was one of the first nutritionists on the web promoting it, but then something happened. Some of my clients did horrible on it. I just assumed they were not doing it right. Then I had my son and my pregnancy with him was a train wreck. I was sick all the time and I couldn't eat anything but turkey (this is a hint at what blood type he was going to be).I tried to eat a paleo diet when I was pregnant with him and he wouldn't let me. When I was breastfeeding, he didn't like the paleo diet either. It was torture. My mom was managing a health food store at the time and she had blood type supplements on her shelf. I grabbed them and took them to my naturalpath doctor to ask her about them. She highly recommended the blood type diet. What I discovered was that I wasn't an A; I was an O and I was doing the diet backwards for years. That's also why I thrived on paleo and my son was an A and he hates meat. Now, as a four year old, he only eats chicken maybe 2 times a month. He loves protein shakes and I don't push meat on him because I know your body will naturally like what it needs. It is insane though because our eating styles are exactly opposite and I am grateful for this book because I know that his needs are different from mine and I shouldn't force him to eat what I like. So, my point to this long review is that some people may not like this book because they might not be experiencing any health issues so they don't see the difference or others might not try it long enough. Also, you can see by my story what eating the wrong diet did to my health and it didn't take long.I love Dr. D Adamo. I use his supplements. I read all of his books. I use his skin care. As a nutritionist, I have studied the science and it's there. This isn't a fad diet. When you have your blood type you have a blue print for your health. It's freedom. One thing that I love about him that I have to add is his ability to speak against what's popular. When I was pregnant, it didn't make sense to me how I could carry a type A baby, if type A blood would kill me. I developed a horrible rash called the pupps rash. I saw 5 OBGYN's and I told them all my theory that I was reacting to the blood of the baby and they all thought I was nuts. After I delivered I still believed the reason I was so sick in pregnancy was because of the blood type difference. Years later I read in one of Dr. D Adamo's books that he supports that theory of the most difficult pregnancies are usually type O mom's with A babies because they are opposite in dietary needs. And warning: don't get the flu shot because it will make worse.I could go on forever about this book, but I'll give you a break .

Jennifer is a little chubby, but bright and funny! And some of the toads can talk! Our "boy" toad hero is Bufo who, by the way, is 465 years old. And Bufo likes movies. Pages 32 to 33: '"Thanks, sweetheart" said Bufo in a odd voice. "What did you call me?" said Jennifer. "Sweetheart," said Bufo in the same odd, throaty voice. "Then why did you call me sweetheart?" Bufo looked crushed. "You didn't recognize that?" "Recognize what?" "My Humphrey Bogart imitation! I was doing Bogey and you didn't even know it! Gad, that is humiliating." "But I don't even know who Humphrey Bogart is," said Jennifer, bewildered. Bufo whirled around. "You don't know Bogey? What do they teach you in these schools?" "Not much," said Jennifer glumly. "I should say not," snorted Bufo. "Not knowing a great actor like Humphrey Bogart...it's...appalling!" "An actor?" Jennifer loves movies. "Does he have a new film coming out?" "He's been dead for decades." Jennifer's face fell. "Then what good is he?"' Oh, was that a wonderful book, or what? Is this 5* stars? How about 10* stars! Bruce Coville: Keep `em coming, kid.IraP.S. --- The pictures and illustrated by Gary A. Lippincott are amazing, too.

This is a very good book about a girl and her toad that has friends and a little brother who goes on many adventures! My daughter doesn't read many books but this book made her catch up to reading! I really recommend this book!

I first found this book at the library years ago for my kids and I liked the story so well I carried it in my substitute teacher work bag for reading to students at the end of the day. THEY liked it so well that years later I bought it for my grandchildren.

My daughter loves this book.

Everything went according to plan. The book was here before Christmas and in perfect condition.

Great book!!

This may well be my favourite of the Magic Shop books, a series of standalone stories that feature a young boy or girl entering Mr Elives' Magic Shop and leaving with a strange artefact of some kind – one which will have taught them an important life-lesson by the end of the book (though not before causing them a heap of trouble in the interim).Perhaps the best thing about the series is that each book is surprisingly different in tone. For instance, Russell Troy, Monster Boy was a comedy/horror, whilst Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher was a coming-of-age tale about a boy and his magical pet. In contrast, "Jennifer Murdley's Toad" is a straight-up fairy tale.Out protagonist has self-esteem issues when it comes to her physical appearance, and she's running from a gang of bullies when she happens upon a store she's never seen before: Elives' Magic Supplies. By the time she leaves, she's in possession of a talking toad called Bufo – and things only get stranger from there. As she copes with the demands of her surprisingly conceited new pet, other obstacles emerge: a toy telephone that rings by itself, the owner of a beauty salon that seems deeply interested in Bufo, and the involvement of Sharra, the most popular girl in school whose prettiness makes Jennifer miserable.Bruce Coville manages to incorporate plenty of elements from familiar fairy tales, such as the girl who was cursed to spill toads, snakes and other nasty creatures from her mouth, a wicked witch searching for eternal beauty, and of course – the consequences of sharing a transformative kiss with a magical toad. It turns out to be a surprisingly twisty story, with revelations concerning secret identities and magical abilities that I didn't see coming.Much like Shrek, Jennifer doesn't get a magical makeover at the end of the story, and in his afterword Coville points out that to do such a thing would diminish the spirit of the book. Instead, what Jennifer gains is confidence and assurance, making this a valuable book for any young reader.

If you were unaware of the connection between vaccinations and allergies and other medical conditions before, you will certainly be well informed after reading this book. I am thankful my child was born before it was common practice to combine so many vaccines into one injection. When I learned of this practice, I severely questioned the wisdom of prevailing thought. Although some of the terminology and medical data contained here can be intimidating, the overall information relayed is invaluable. I am wondering what is contained in vaccines offered today and if this scenario is still being played out in today's society.

An incredibly informative book. I wish I found the older edition before my kids arrived... I doubt we'd be having to constantly buy Epi Pens and check the ingredients of every little thing our first-born eats. And I consider us to be among the lucky ones... it's such a tragedy so many families have been through much worse. Heather Fraser pretty much drops the mic on what is causing this epidemic, but it's about much more than just peanut allergy ... any parent or prospective parent who is concerned about keeping their kids healthy and free of auto-immune and cognitive disorders (and worse) should pick this up, read it, and pass it on to someone they love.

Peanut allergies did not exist a century ago. Heather Frasier exposes the reason why they occur today in one in fifty American children. Many vaccine use peanut oil as an adjuvant. When a study was done on this practice was done in the early '70s, Congress' response was to pass a law in 1973 permitting vaccine companies to not put "inactive" ingredients on the vaccine packages, calling their formulas secret and proprietary, never mind that they were killing and disabling many thousands. The peanut oil in vaccines sensitizes many to peanut protein, resulting in peanut allergies on later exposure to peanuts, with sometimes fatal results. Frasier includes statistics on exactly how quickly peanut allergies in the US exploded: in the wake of the Hib vaccine being put on the universal vaccine schedule in 1987, the incidence of peanut allergy increased three times in only three years. This is an aside, no included in this book: Israel has very few peanut allergies, because the vaccines manufactured there do not use peanut oil, but rather sesame oil, so they have a lot of sesame allergies in their children. This is an extremely detailed, well-researched book that all parents should read, and gives us yet another reason to just say no to vaccines. (My daughter reacted to the hep-B vax at birth, given without permission, with encephalitis, to the DTaP at 18 months with having her only two words erased, and was diagnosed with autism two months later. She got pertussis at 8 months after having had three DTaPs, but caught the disease anyway, because the vaccine is very ineffective while still very dangerous. I wish that I had not permitted her to get any vaccines.)

Have you ever wondered WHY there are so many kids with peanut allergies these days? Heather Fraser did after her child had an anaphylactic reaction to peanut butter.I’ve heard that a worried mom with a sick kid does better research than the FBI, and this book proves that point.WHY IS THAT?******************Ms. Fraser quickly points out that peanut allergy used to be a concern only for Western countries – why is that? She indicates that there was a sudden rise in the U.K., U.S., Canada and Australia around 1990, and it worsened through the 2000′s – why is that? The odds of a Western child developing a peanut allergy were 1 in 75 as of 2008 – why is that? She also writes that the person most likely to develop a peanut allergy is a male born after about 1990 in said Western countries whose “ability to detoxify had been challenged by environmental factors” – why is that? She finds it difficult to accept, as do I, that “hundreds of thousands of children had become allergic to this one food in the space of just twenty years by ingestion alone.”You can’t blame it on genetics, as the overall rate would stay the same. Logically, there would have to be something in the environment (food, toxins, etc.) that’s triggering this rise.AN EPIDEMIC OF CHILDREN'S CHRONIC HEALTH CONDITIONS*****************************************************************************For those of you who don’t know me, I am a Certified Holistic Health Counselor and Board Member of Epidemic Answers, a non-profit that provides information to parents of children with autism, ADHD, allergies, asthma and any other chronic neurological, behavioral, digestive and/or autoimmune conditions (the etiology is the same). We let parents know that recovery is possible.I began my own investigations into this epidemic after my sons developed colic, projectile vomiting, cradle cap, ear infections, severe acid reflux, developmental delays, failure to thrive, asthma, Sensory Processing Disorder, hypotonia, eczema, mitochondrial dysfunction and food sensitivities (HINT: They’re all related.)This is why I find Ms. Fraser’s book so fascinating: she is another mom that has learned to think for herself and do her own research and find out WHY this epidemic is happening.STANDARD THEORIES NOT SUFFICIENT**************************************************She writes about different theories and why they alone are not sufficient to describe this epidemic. These theories are: The broken-skin hypothesis The ingestion hypothesis The toxin hypothesis The helminth (worm) hypothesisInstead, Ms. Fraser proposes a new hypothesis: the dramatic increase in peanut allergies happened at the same time that the number of vaccines that children were given also increased dramatically. And why not? She points out to us that “immunologist and Nobel laureate Charles Richet and pediatrician Clemens von Pirquet were able to show how the injection of vaccine proteins had caused the first allergy epidemic” over 100 years ago.Apparently, we’ve forgotten our history, so we’re doomed to repeat it.SO WHAT'S CAUSING IT?*******************************With the skill of the historian that she is, Ms. Fraser points out several key facts that point to our vaccination policy as the cause of this alarming rise in peanut allergy, which is paralleled by alarming rises in autism, ADHD, asthma and other chronic health conditions. The clues she details are:* “Medical literature illustrated that the only means by which immediate and mass allergy had ever been caused was by injection.” It used to be called “serum sickness” as early as the 1890′s.* Multi-dose vaccines came into being after President Reagan “signed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act from which emerged the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) in 1988. VICP was a ‘no-fault’ alternative to the tort system… (and) the pressures on vaccine makers eased.”* In 1985, 7 vaccines were given to children. By 2007, the number had grown to 37.* Beginning in 1993, multiple vaccinations were given in a single needle.* Vaccines are loaded with adjuvants, such as aluminum, that stimulate the body to mount an immune response. Adjuvants can cause allergic reactions and are the “immunologists’ dirty little secret’. Aluminum is a known IgE-stimulating adjuvant.* Peanut oil is used to make vaccine formulations. Not only is it impossible to remove all the proteins (proteins cause the allergic reaction) from the oil, but the quality of oil varies widely. “Refined peanut oil can create allergy whether consumed or ingested.”* Incidentally, Ms. Fraser points out that soy and egg white are used to make lecithin in vaccines. She didn’t explain in great detail, perhaps because it was out of the scope of this book, but this fact may be what’s behind the huge increase in soy and egg allergies, as well. Before you dismiss this book out of hand and say it’s a bunch of hooey written by an anti-vaxer, I urge you to read it first, follow her logic and research the references she has prolifically listed. Then you can make up your own mind and think for yourself.

With the support of U.S. President Brandon Zimmer, Cal Stokes and a select, international team will head to the Middle East to take the fight to ISIS... "This is about what's right, not what's popular, a moral imperative" ...Cal, Daniel, Trent and Gaucho (from The Jefferson Group) team up with three-man international teams and train together to take on ISIS... A member of the team from Bulgaria hides an explosive secret... The nineteen man team lands in the Middle East ready to fight to the death...The seventh Corp Justice book, like the ones before it, brings the reader into the story to get an up-close view of the training these men endure and the battles where they are victorious in defending America and her people. You feel like you are a part of the action, even if you are viewing it from a safe distance. This series is about honor and the men that fight for it.

Another great read by Cooper. This one starts with Christians being butchered by ISIS in Iraq.ISIS has killed thousands and plan to kill many more. They are recruiting for fighters all over the world and its beginning to look as though nothing will stop them from taking over Iraq and the Muslim world.Cal Stokes is getting madder by the day as he watched ISIS and the butchery they have posted all over the internet. He wonders if America is going to do anything to stop that butchery.President Zimmer called Cal and Daniel to the WH.Zimmer does, in fact, have a plan. A plan that involves Special Forces operatives from not only America but Japan, Bulgaria, Austrailia, Italy and Great Britain. He also has retired operators wanting to join the fight. Zimmer advised Cal that he will back Cal and this band of operators to the hilt.It will be up to Cal and the Jefferson Group to bond this group of men into a unit. A unit to make war on ISIS.So begins one great kick ass read. This one has Cal, Daniel, President Zimmer, a girl named Diana, Gaucho and the Jefferson Group, Special operators from other countries, a Bulgarian named Valkov, his twin brother, traitors, death, explosions, sacrifice, a good friend named Andy, a united band of brothers and one kick ass read.Five Stars and then some.

Moral Imperative is the final published novel in The Corps Justice Series and I'm sorry that the next book in the series isn't already available, leaving me at the edge of the cliff for months to find out what's up with Andy! These last two books had me hooked from the beginning - forcing me to finish each story in single setting - real page turners! In this story, Cal and his band of Merry Men - a combined team of elite forces from countries around the world - complete an arduous schedule of training in order to take on ISIS - a few good men against the many! Their raids also include the tracking and elimination of recruits, who had joined ISIS from other countries around the world and are now returning home to visit families. The terrorist group and individuals of ISIS will soon learn that there is no sanctuary. The team faces scrutiny when one of the new members reveals a secret that has the potential to destroy Cal's group of warriors and trust can only go so far! How do they handle this? I'm also thinking that the great success of this book is due to the author writing about real life issues of today. ISIS is real, dangerous and expanding...Mr. Cooper has offered a solution for their elimination!Great job Mr. Cooper - I look forward to your continuing stories!John Podlaski, authorCherries - A Vietnam War Novel

I loved this book, and I loved the subject. This book was action packed as usual, but it also went deeply into all that is I.S.I.S. More people need to know what they are really like, and maybe some of those who seem to have heroic visions of them will finally have their eyes opened. Although you can never really understand the phrase "brothers in arms" unless you have actually been in combat, this book also gives you at least something to use as a basis for that understanding. Our troops really are incredible people, and seeing things from their point of view, especially in combat, makes them even more incredible. When I finished this book I found myself wishing it really was more than just a story, but rather a hopeful glimpse of the future in what could be done if the resolve was there in our leaders, and the leaders of other countries. This was a tremendous book, and I definitely recommend it. Right now I'm in awe of this author, and hope to see many more books from him in the future. In the meantime, I'm glad there are still many I haven't gotten to yet, so I have a lot of good reading ahead of me.

I like C.G. Coopers stories. He has a way of describing his characters, and adding little quirks to individuals in his stories, and you come to feel they are real people. When I read C.G. Coopers books I feel like I know the people who are in the story, know what motivates them, and even feel a level of loss when one is injured or killed. When I read C.G.'s stories I come away feeling that if I were to break down the individual facets that make up story writing, he is a good writer but not top of the field in any one category, with the possible exception of character development. However, when you've finished reading his books you come to realize the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This is a story that should happen; no, this is story that should be happening right now! If our government had any strength of character, instead of worrying about what the politically correct thing to do would be, this would be history or current events, not a fiction story written by a real patriot. Yes, I like C.G. Cooper's stories... a lot.

#220,459 Paid in Kindle Store (See Top 100 Paid in Kindle Store)

We received this book a few days ago, and while we actually follow a ketogenic diet rather than paleo, it is a great resource for recipes and ideas that aren't grain-based. I have the crustless quiche recipe in the instant pot as I type for breakfast. Mmmm. [Actually, it finished while writing this review. It's very tasty, and baked in 15 minutes flat!!!]We had ordered a "general" instant pot cookbook prior to this, in November when we got the instant pot, but were disappointed by how many things were rice-and-beans, or noodle, etc based. At least 50% of the recipes were just not even "editable" for Keto or Paleo type diets, as they were very heavily based on grains and how they cooked. Of course, the recipes looked super tasty, great ideas -- but weren't that helpful for us. Enter this cookbook! If you are Keto:Many of the recipes do use honey or syrup, but they seem easily omit-able in many cases (OK, maybe not the brownies... but in most of the main dishes). There are also potatoes, but again, many times they seem easy enough to omit or replace with other vegetables. Lots of recipes with coconut milk, which is great for keto, and the recipes don't steer clear of fats too much. There are also several obvious substitutions if you don't care about avoiding dairy -- many contain non-dairy milks which can be replaced with cream or regular, use butter instead of ghee, it's easy to add cheese on top of something, etc. -- if you are not truly Paleo.Of course, if you are Paleo, then this is even better as the recipes follow it to a T from what I can tell! The author eats Paleo to manage several chronic illnesses/conditions (including Lyme), so it seems like she takes compliance pretty seriously there.I saw a couple comments of "why would I do this in an instant pot?" in prior reviews. It's not always easier or more straightforward, or doesn't necessary make less dishes, etc... but it's WAY FASTER to cook tender, tasty, moist food. Instant pot cooking gives you fall-apart-in-your-mouth beef stew in 35 minutes - rather than 8 hours - if you forgot to set up for the crock pot the night before having to rush out the door at 7AM the next morning. Or chicken breasts in 15 minutes, rather than an hour or more in the oven... Or the BEST hard-boiled eggs I've ever had, consistent and easy. If you get home from a long day at work, need to cook dinner start-to-finish in under an hour, try to go for whole foods rather than pre-prepared store-bought stuff, and have 2 hungry 4-year-olds awaiting you, the instant pot is great, worth it, let's go guys, 100%. Also, while the saute function is helpful, it's definitely an option to just use a pan on the stove for the pre-steps if there's a lot of transferring in and out going on, and that works fine also. This recipe book will give you one potential set of exact steps to follow, and is very clear in the recipes, which is great for beginners, but it's also pretty easy to figure out edits to fit your own lifestyle, experience level with cooking, and tolerance for dishes, time, etc. While deciding whether to buy, I was disappointed there wasn't a listing of recipes in any review or the "view inside" pages on Amazon. So, here you go:*Breakfast*Decked-Out Omelet, Breakfast Cobbler, Individual Crustless Quiche, Perfectly Peelable Hard Boiled Eggs, Mexi-Egg Cups (egg filling in a red pepper), Paleo Breakfast Porridge, Cinnamon Applesauce, Breakfast Casserole, Cultured Coconut Milk Yogurt, Legit Bread Under Pressure*Proteins*Easy Grain-Free Meatballs, Shrimp Scampi, Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings, Shrimp Cocktail, Beef Stroganoff, Teriyaki Jumbo Scallops, Bacon Turkey Meatloaf, Veggie Stuffed Eggplant, Zesty Citrus Pulled Chicken, Pressure Cooked Sirloin Steak, Cilantro Chicken Meatballs, Instant Pot Roast, Chicken Tikka Masala, BBQ Beef Short Ribs, Rotisserie Chicken, Parchment-Wrapped Salmon, Carnitas, Lemon Garlic Chicken, Honey Balsamic Port Chops, Salad Topper Turkey Filets, Creamy Buffalo Chicken Legs, Stuffed Cabbage Rolls*Soups, Stews, Sauces*Chicken Stock, Beef Stock, Cream of Mushroom Soup, Savory Lamb Goulash, Loaded Baked Potato Soup, Cowboy Chili, Creamy Tomato Soup, Butternut Squash Bisque, Italian Wedding Soup, Southern Shrimp Chowder, Vegetable Beef Soup, Egg Roll Soup, Green Fish Curry, Simple Beef Stew, Caulifredo Sauce, Mushroom Pasta Sauce, Bolognese Sauce, BBQ Sauce*Sides*Garlic Dill Carrots, Smoky Mushrooms + Onions, "Roasted" Rainbow Fingerling Potatoes, Artichokes with Melted Ghee, Stir-Fried Garlicky Green Beans, Picnic Perfect Egg Salad, Potato Salad, Spaghetti Squash, Steamed Greens + Bacon, Pressure-Cooked Cranberry Sauce, "Baked" Sweet Potatoes, Quick Zucchini Noodles, Honeyed Beets, "Canned" Green Beans*Naturally Sweetened Treats*Strawberry Shortcake Mug Cake, Tapioca Pudding, Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Muffins, White Chocolate Fondue, Lemon Custard, Chocolate Pots de Creme, Grain-Free Blissful Brownies, Fruit-Sweetened Cranberry Orange Loaves, Hidden Spinach Bundt Cakes, Individual Cheesecakes with Graham Crust*Hot Beverages*Chai Tea Latte, Orange Pomegranate Tea, Hands-Free Hot Chocolate, Mulled Cider, 5-Minute Eggnog, Peppermint Cocoa, Honey Lemon Soother

This cookbook has some good and interesting recipes for Instant Pot (IP). However, it is full of errors and omissions, and in some cases, the recipes have not been properly tested, such that if you follow the instructions exactly, you will not get good results. Here are some examples of what I am talking about:Mexi-Egg Cups (page 21). This is an interesting breakfast recipe. Unfortunately, following the cooking instructions exactly yields poor results. If I follow the instructions exactly, including tenting with aluminum foil, I typically get raw eggs inside the pepper cup and have had to finish cooking the eggs in the microwave. This recipe instructs to use Manual, Low Pressure, 4m (4m=4 minutes) with one cup of water in the pot. The results are a bit better on Manual, High Pressure, 5 or 6 minutes, but one can still end up with raw eggs in this case! After trying the recipe multiple times and varying the IP settings (as noted), it seems to me that the recipe was not properly tested. This recipe may actually come out better is baked in a conventional oven, or through experimentation with the IP, find the correct setting that do work.Garlic Dill Carrots (page 119). This recipe omits indicating the use of one cup of water. The IP instructions insist to never pressure cook without water, and to always use AT LEAST one cup of water. Also, this recipe indicates using Steam (10 minutes); this setting works fine with one cup of water in the pot before closing the pot.Often, this book indicates to use one of the IP function buttons and assumes that the default settings are still in force. The IP comes from the factory with default settings for each function button. However, once the user changes any of the settings (pressure: High or Low, time, or heat level: Less, Normal, More), the IP smartly remembers these new settings as the new default. This way, the next time you try to use the IP, it will automatically load the last used settings associated with each function button. Therefore, the recipe book should always give the full set of setting required for each recipe, taking into consideration that the default setting may have changed. For example, in kind of a short-form: Steam:Normal:10m (Steam function button, heat level set to Normal and 10 minutes.Otherwise, the recipes are very creative and tasty, but because of all the technical mishaps with the instructions, I can only give it a two. If the new edition fixes the problems I have noted, while making sure recipes are properly tested giving good results if followed exactly, I would be glad to give it four stars, and possibly five stars.

I pre-ordered this cookbook and have been looking forward to receiving it. I love IP and was hoping for a plethora of new grain free recipes to add to my weekly rotation of dinners. Instead, I got a few decent new recipes and a book full of alternative ways to cook using the IP, which I was not really looking for.Example: "bread under pressure" is a bread recipe where you are to use an alternative container (a "coffee canister or other vertically shaped cylinder") covered with foil inside your IP to make bread. Seems to me a loaf pan in the oven would make more sense.Or a recipe for meatloaf where you wrap it in foil and cook it in the IP. Part of the beauty of IP is the stainless inner pot. I don't cook with aluminum if I can help it because it leaches into my food. There is a full section for warm beverages that is just kind of useless. Most people have other, faster ways of preparing tea and hot chocolate. Who wants to wash a large bowl and non-dishwasher safe lid & seal to have a cup of tea?Overall, I was very disappointed that I will probably only use 4-5 of the "80 recipes" in this book. If I lived in a dorm room and had only the IP to do any of my cooking with, this book might be invaluable to me.Bottom line: If you're looking for a lot of new "set and forget" IP recipes, look elsewhere.
