I am a roadmap collector and recently bought the RandMcNally maps for all 50 states, plus a US Interstate map. I like the large scale used and helps considering my vision is less than ideal. I also use these maps to supplement the official maps that I also have for the entire country

Although we use the GPS, it is always nice to have a map as well so that you can locate rest stops, scenic routes, where might be a good place to stop for dinner, etc. We took a 4000 mile trip and I still think Rand McNally makes the best maps hands down.

Good map to have to plan for summer vacation trip to see the National Parks in the state

Purchased this map from Wondery and looked at it for tips on things to see in South Dakota. So we now have an idea what to see when we are there next year, The map is detailed enought that we can plan trips between sightseeing.

Wow, Hannah Moskowitz, you just knocked me for an emotional loop with this one.It's October 2002. Just as the Washington, DC area is beginning to recover from the 9/11 terrorist attacks the previous year, random people start getting shot and killed by the Beltway Snipers. As I remember all to well, people run to and from their cars, crouch down when putting gas in their cars, and parents fear for the safety of their children while at school. This is the backdrop for the burgeoning relationship between high school students Craig and Lio.Both boys are emotionally fragile in their own ways. Craig is so hurt by his breakup with ex-boyfriend Cody that he has adopted a large menagerie of stray animals, which he feels he can relate to better than humans. When a break-in at his house allows all the animals to escape, Craig is focused on finding all of his pets and is determined not to let the fear of the snipers interfere with this task.Lio, who moved from New York following 9/11 and his parents' separation, is dealing with the guilt of surviving childhood leukemia while his twin brother did not. The terror being inflicted by the snipers has truly shaken him, and while he doesn't want to let his guard down by falling for Craig, he cannot help himself. Craig is afraid to care for someone else and becomes afraid he could lose Lio, so he cannot help but to push him away.Gone, Gone, Gone is a beautifully tender and sincere story of friendship that turns to romance, but that romance is wracked by fear, doubt, and emotional uncertainty. Hannah Moskowitz so perfectly captured the angst of young love, feeling like all you want to do is be with a person, yet so many issues keep getting in the way. All of the characters are drawn so vividly, I could almost picture the story unfolding in my head.Reading this book made me wish that things were different when I was this age, in terms of being more accepting of your sexuality. But at the same time, I'm so happy that we live in a society where, in general, this story could be a true one, and the fact that these boys are gay is an afterthought. I also once again find myself marveling at the amazing talent in the YA genre right now, that we've moved so far beyond the books that existed when I was younger.I'm not sure where I heard of this book--I'm fairly certain it was a recommendation from one of two amazing YA authors I've read this year--but I feel so lucky to have found it. Thank you, Hannah Moskowitz, for making me feel hopeful, happy, and sad simultaneously. This is a keeper.

He's been through familial hell and it weighs heavy on him.I won't spoil what unfolds between them, but it is ultimately very satisfying.Hannah writes well, but her strength is in her story building rather than just use of language. Every detail of the world is written large, informing every character, every scene.A refreshing read by a skilled storyteller.

Curt Smith, Baseball's broadcast historian, has done it again! He has given a detailed top 100 list that is bound to spur arguments among diehard fans. For instance, why does Smith list Phil Rizzuto and Bill White but not that classy professional Frank Messer who so ably rounded out the Yankeee triumvirate for sixteens and was the best of emcees at Stadium OldTimers Games? Why is there continued mention of Lou Boudreau as a longtime Cubs commentator but nothing in depth about his playing, managing and broadcast career? Credit should be given Smith in detailing why Jim Woods was consistently the best number-two man in various broadcast teams and should be considered for Cooperstown. Smith also notes the contributions of two able non-listers, former Yankee radio men Michael Kay and Charley Steiner, in the piece about their ex-partner John Sterling. Kay now does Yankee TV, and Long Island native Steiner was included in "Ghosts of Flatbush," HBO's documentary about the Brooklyn Dodgers. Thumbs up to Curt Smith, amd that comes without any internal argument!

Needed this book for a book report and it was a great find to be able to purchase online... got an A on the report!

Curt Smith knows a lot about the history of baseball broadcasting, but the pity of it is that he has no idea of how to translate that knowledge into a great book. "Voices Of The Game" written in 1987 and revised in 1992 was undermined by his very bad, disjointed writing style, and compounded by his annoying intrusion of his subjective personal opinions about the merits or lack thereof in certain baseball broadcasters. I have never forgiven Smith for his obnoxious dismissal of the work of Yankees broadcaster Frank Messer (1968-1985) in a single phrase calling him "dull as a greasepocked pan", and his refusal to understand that for Yankee fans of that era, it wasn't Phil Rizzuto or Rizzuto and Bill White, it was Rizzuto, MESSER and White who made listening to Yankee baseball in the 70s and early 80s great. Messer might not have been Smith's cup of tea as a broadcaster, but his career at least merited some acknowledgment if this was to be a truly objective chronicle of baseball broadcasting because there were plenty of people out there who wouldn't share Smith's view on that point (just as I am a person who absolutely despises Jon Miller's broadcasting, an announcer Smith will never hesitate to gush endlessly about, but I would never let my feelings prevent me from acknowledging the following that Miller does have with others).I mention these prefatory remarks to note that in this new book, Smith's writing has become more shallow and his focus even more so. Now we are getting profiles of 101 great announcers, in profiles that are mostly verbatim rehashes of what we saw in "Voices Of The Game" only more disjointed and even less coherent. To his credit, Smith has evidently made peace with some of the announcers whose work he ripped in the past like Gary Thorne of the Mets, Monte Moore of Oakland etc. and I even applaud the fact that he's willing to acknowledge that John Sterling has a following among Yankee fans despite the shrill blastings he gets from New York media critics. But I'm sorry, you can not include Phil Rizzuto and Bill White on this list and leave Messer out (And include Hawk Harrelson for God's sake?????). A more competent baseball writer, Bruce Markusen, has noted how Messer's low-key approach of competent professionalism was the perfect tonic in the Yankee booth to the witty exchanges of Rizzuto and White. Nine innings of Rizzuto and White would have been overkill, but with Messer in the mix, the blend was perfect. Yankee broadcasting went into a tailspin after Messer was dismissed in 1985 and it took seven years for them to land on their feet with the arrival of the John Sterling-Michael Kay tandem.Smith also is not someone who aggressively does his homework on baseball's broadcasting past, but seems content to just recycle his 20 year old notes, because in addition to rehashing almost verbatim comments from his 20 year old book, he's amazingly still repeating a goof from "Voices Of The Game" that should have been corrected long ago. On page 230, in his profile of Giants broadcaster Lon Simmons, Smith quotes verbatim the famous NBC Radio call of Willie McCovey's liner to Bobby Richardson ending Game 7 of the 1962 World Series. The only problem though, is that call was made by George Kell, not Simmons (Simmons, contrary to the profile listing, was never part of the NBC Radio crew for the 62 WS. All of the games were called by Kell and Joe Garagiola).Someone else needs to rescue the history of baseball broadcasting from what Curt Smith has done and write a better book (something similar to David Halberstam's 1999 "Sports On New York Radio"). It will be a pity if our long-term reference works on baseball broadcasting will have to consist of Smith's badly written subjective opinions that muddle up so much of the meaningful information there is for us to learn about.

This is a poorly writen book and it is such a shame, because for baseball fans the topic is so interesting.The author writes in a bizarre style that is extremely difficult to read. The writing is very clipped, and as such, quite painful to read. He likes to show off his knowledge of obscure words which does nothing to communicate his points. He ticks off little known facts, but does little in the way of explaining why they are relevant.Reading this book in a normal manner was impossible. I found that skimming through it was the only way I could keep my sanity. I had to restrain my desire to take out the blue pencil and begin editing his work.At one point I checked to see who published this book. It was a very obscure publishing house, certainly no one will ever confuse them with Random House. Still, how this monstrosity ever found its way into print is a mystery.There are many great baseball books that have been written over the years, Boys of Summer, Lucky to be a Yankee, etc. This book is clearly not one of them -- not even close. Reading this book was more effort than it was ever worth. Don't waste your time.

This book is great for people who are looking to learn the core concepts of CISA in a very short amount of time. It has easy to follow illustrations and guides to help readers understand and visualize concepts. The most useful section I've found is the "Protection of Information Assets" section. The author worded it in a way that was easy for me to understand and provided helpful illustrations to really help me get it. It's a great book to have for exam preparation and I feel more readily knowledgeable about CISA since reading it.

This is a well organized and to the point ebook. I like everything about it. The only downside and is not major issue is some minor grammatical errors here and there. Other than that, I will recommend it as review note.

Its okay to get a quick review of the knowledge contained in the official exam prep book.

Some table has problem while I change the font size.

I usually don't post reviews, but I felt the need to share my experience with this book. Though the book has some valuable last minute review information (limited), the book is poorly written. I'm no grammar Nazi, but the poor grammar is distracting to say the least. The book is fairly cheap, so I guess I got my money's worth; however, I would suggest investing in a more professional product.BUYER BEWARE!!!

Kindle only version does not format correctly, many pages unable to read, book content on many pages can't help prepare for CISA exam. The BIGGEST disappointment on the Kindle App, no SEARCH function for this book! Look for another guide.

The content is not bad but too many typographical errors which detracts from the credibility of the writer. Could become a useful resource if properly edited and polished.

It seems a copy of the CISA question bank with several spelling and grammar errors. Many sentences don't make sense. Buyer beware.

In today's world, such ignorance seems preposterous, but this just shows how far we've come.I was moved to tears by Ms. Pimentel's text that captured Bobbi's love for running, and her determination to prove that women can do more than people care to believe. And Ms. Archer's illustrations added to the beauty of the story as well as the emotion. I highly recommend this book to anyone, but especially for those wanting to learn about women's struggle to be seen, heard, and understood.

This is an awesome book! It is a great story told very well. The drawings are amazing as well. I actually bought this for a girlfriend of mine who is running in the Boston Marathon coming up. It would also be great for any kids that are interested in running or that you want to get interested in running. It’s hard to believe sometimes that there actually has been a lot of change in perceptions of what women can do; this story was just 50 years ago!

I love picture book biographies.This is a fabulous story of one person overcoming all odds.

We live near Boston and watch it all the time. I was actually At the marathon the year the bomb went off. The police told us to leave immediately which we did. We caught the train back to Newburyport.

Annette has written another wonderful book, that is both visually, intellectually and emotionally engaging to its readers! I am an elementary school librarian and my students loved listening to Girl Running! The story runs smoothly and is paced like a good race, with amazing illustrations that will leave both children and adults in awe! We loved Mountain Chef too- which I read to my students in grades 2 through 4. Girl Running would be suitable for students as young as Kindergarten and upwards. One of our teachers bought one for her boyfriend and his mom that just ran the Boston Marathon too!

This beautiful book by Annette Bay Pimentel and illustrated by Micha Archer, is the true story of the first girl to run the Boston Marathon. Women were not allowed to register for the Boston Marathon in 1966. It wasn't believed they could run the 26.2 mile distance. But Bobbi Gibb knew she could do it! She ran the race unregistered for three years in a row. Follow Bobbi as she trains across the country, often in nursing shoes, through gorgeously illustrated pages and fascinating text. The Boston Marathon (first event in 1897) finally allowed women to register for the race for the first time in 1972. Bobbi Gibb inspired and paved the way for future woman marathoners.
