Gear and Freestone's work is a large collection similar to Mary McCarthy's The Crafter's Pattern Sourcebook (LJ 10/15/99). These motifs are arranged into general categories such as flowers or birds without further identification of item or source. However, these omissions probably do not diminish its usefulness. Everett offers a more limited collection of designs with instructions for etchings and photographs of finished pieces, some rather complex landscapes for advanced projects. I love to wordburn(pyrography) and paint on glass.There are so many pictures that can be traced and moved onto wood or glass, I love the quality of the pictures too.
